Round Four Results

Well, thanks Jonah Lomu Rugby. It may well be everyone’s favourite rugby game, but it put us completely out of pocket. It got every single result wrong. The worst performance of the championship from any of our games; including International Rugby Simulator. Even Planet Rugby beat us in the prediction stakes this week.

Review of our Week Four Predictions

Last week The East Terrace again bravely told the rugby world exactly how the weekend’s action in the Six Nations would pan out (click here to read our round four predictions ). This time we used Jonah Lomu Rugby for the Playstation to give us a glimpse into the future. After finally going into profit on week three, Mr. Lomu brought us right back down to earth. We felt like Mike Catt after he first met Lomu in 1995.

Wales v Italy

19-8 to Wales was the prediction. Although we actually tipped that Italy might sneak the match after our experiment saw a good Italian try disallowed that could have swung the game. Either way, our bet on first tryscorer and a small Italian win came to nought. Not by much though.

Result: We lost both bets.

Ireland v Scotland

Mr. Lomu’s game said it would finish 39-0 to Scotland. About the only thing it got right was that Ireland would fail to grab a try. Otherwise, it was slightly off the actual result of 15-9 to Ireland.

Result: Yup, we lost everything on this one.

France v England

Amazingly, our prediction of an English back rower grubber kicking through the French midfield for Martin Corry to gather and burst under the posts failed to materialise! As did everything else from our simulated predication of 44-18 to England. As for Hodgson getting a full house of scores, well, the less said the better on that one.

Result: You guessed it, we lost all our bets on this one. Putting us another €4 down.

Conclusions for Round Four

Well Jonah Lomu Rugby may be the top of everyone’s rugby game list, but it certainly didn’t repay our love at the bookies. We feel betrayed, used and a little out of pocket. We don't want to talk about this anymore.

Come back for the next round when we use Rugby Challenge 2006 to make us rich.
