The East Terrace set to revolutionise rugby prediction methods

We know what the rugby will bring this year |
We tell you exactly how the Six Nations will pan out
The East Terrace is always keen to approach rugby with a different beat to the traditional rhythm. As we approach the 2006 Six Nations, rugby folk, be it pundit, player or fan, begin making their predictions and forecasts about how players and teams will fare in this year’s event. However, whether one is a professional writer, an ex-international star or your average fan in the street, emotions will always cloud judgement when it comes to calling the results of games. Even the most analytic of minds will be influenced by a favourite team, a favourite player or a romantic hope when they attempt to calculate the outcome of matches.
To combat this The East Terrace has decided, as part of our new Predictions page, to use the very latest computer technology to try and calculate the exact outcome of this year’s Six Nations tournament. After extensive research and data acquisition, The East Terrace will be consulting a series of rugby computer programmes to attempt to bring you the results before they happen.
Utilising technology from the modern age (1987-2005) we will be simulating digitally the very events that we feel will unfold this season in the Six Nations. By using only computer analysis we remove the human factor and, therefore, the emotional factor. We feel that readers of The East Terrace will then, without doubt, be able to go out and bet large sums of money, if not the roof over their very heads, on the game’s outcomes as they have been given a vision of the future by us*. The week before each set of games in the Six Nations we will publish our preview of all the action.
The following programmes will be consulted over the coming weeks:
Round One: World Class Rugby for the Super Nintendo
Round Two: International Rugby Simulator for the Amstrad 464
Round Three: Rugby World Cup 1995 for the Sega Megadrive
Round Four: Jonah Lomu Rugby for the PS1
Round Five: Rugby Challenge 2006 for the PS2
The East Terrace Predictions page is here to stay. After the Six Nations we will be there for all the major events on the rugby calendar. We’ll be letting YOU - the rugby fan - get rich off our forecasts.
*The East Terrace accepts no responsibility for anyone who listens to a single word we write and suffers a financial loss or loss of living abode. Conversely, those making profits as a result of our forecasts are morally obliged to donate at least 20% of all winnings to The East Terrace.
Get those wallets ready and come back next week for our Round One predictions.
